Au Fait Communications also offers dedicated accounts for those users who require more access than is provided by our dialup packages. These accounts allow 24 x 7 connections with no idle timeouts and a static IP address if required. This type of account is ideal for small businesses that have small networks or need more than one computer at a time connected to the internet.
We offer two types of dedicated connections. POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) and Transend modems. The POTS connection requires a standard modem and analog telephone line. The Transend requires two POTS lines and a Transend 67 modem.
The Transend 67 modem delivers speeds of up to 67 Kbps, in both directions, over regular analog phone lines without the need for digital connections. Using a patented technology called SACS, which bonds dual data pumps at the chip level, single-channel ISDN speeds are achieved without the high-costs and availability issues associated with ISDN. And, the ability to both upload and download files at 67 Kbps over regular phone lines, makes the Transend 67 the perfect solution to telecommuters around-the-world. These modems are available in both desktop or internal modems.
